How to do a Socially Distant Spring Break.

It is officially Spring Break, and it looks, just like last year, everything seems to be closed due to the Pandemic. Well just because everything is closed doesn't mean you can't celebrate spring break in a fun and safe way. Here are a few ideas.

1. Have a socially distant picnic. It is just like it sounds; have a picnic in a park or a back yard and keep a distance of six feet when you start eating. I would recommend having a six foot long blanket in between  the two parties as to make sure your the proper distance away. Be sure to follow CDC guidelines as well.

2. Go on a hike. with the weather getting warmer, it may be a good idea to exorcise and get fresh air in a safe manner. I recommend going on an easy hike trail with friends, wearing masks of course. That way you can enjoy the beauty of nature while staying safe.

3. Have a zoom game night. Just simply go on a zoom call with some friends or relatives, choose what game to play, and point the camera at the game board while you play the game. you can also find online versions of popular board games, and play on a computer screen while you talk on a zoom call. It is a fun way of bonding with people whom you haven't seen in a while, and I can speak from experience. I recommend giving this a shot.

Staying Organized

With the transition to online learning, staying organized is going to be difficult. Here are three quick tips to keeping yourself organized with this new platform! 1. Keep a Planner When you’re working from home, it can be easy to forget what time, day, or even week it is. Keeping a planner and updating it daily is vital for keeping track of due dates and schedules. When you don’t have a regular class schedule, it’s important to keep a planner so that you know when your Zoom meetings are, when your assignments are due, and how that fits in with the rest of your schedule. There are so many online planner resources if you prefer to do it on your phone or computer; otherwise, Amazon has excellent planner options as well. 2. Continue to Use a School Bag I know it sounds kind of strange to use a bag when you’re staying home all day, but hear me out. If you still keep all of your stuff in your bag, not only have you contained the mess of schoolwork that you have, but y...

Try to be patient with yourself, your classmates, and your instructors during this time. Take care of your well-being first. Making a plan and adjusting your studying may help you feel even a little sense of control.” I recommend you take a few minutes to read through more of this document by clicking  here . You’ll find helpful strategies and links to resources for making a successful adjustment to online...

Mackenzie Murphy on "Snacks for Those Who Have Our Backs"

I've always been someone who has been involved in the community. I have always had a passion for making a difference and giving back to those in need. Much of my involvement and love for serving others, stems from the way I was raised. I am one of six kids, with the last three of us having been adopted. My mom is a retired nurse and worked for the State of NH, so I was raised with foster children and teenagers living with us for much of my childhood. Through the years, I have learned to never judge a book by its cover, to always help out those who may need a helping hand and make sure I give back to those who give so much, as my parents have been shining examples throughout my life. Through my involvement, I have served on many different community boards and organizations and tried to lend a hand whenever I saw the opportunity. However, I always felt like I wasn't doing "enough" and wanted to make a bigger impact. The perfect moment came when I was on a Zoom ca...
