Spoiler Free Review: Class Action Park

Class Action Park is a Documentary film about the world's most dangerous water park, Action Park. The film had a limited release on virtual film festivals in 2020, but was recently released on HBO Max. The film interviews many people who have some connection to the park, from employees, to park goers, to the son of Action Park's founder.

The best way I can describe the tone of the film is Tiger King meets Jackass. It is baffling watching the film and seeing people go down these extremely dangerous rides while the rides construction is being described to you. Perhaps the most famous of these is a water slide that was advertised as having the biggest loop in all of America. Minor spoilers here, but lets just say that of few people lost teeth in the loop, and some even more unfortunate soles found them later.

This film, and Action Park as a whole, is like a car crash, it is just a disaster at every corner, but you just can't look away. And it is by this nature that people kept coming to this park; not just in spite of, but because it is so dangerous. Getting a scar, as one interviewee put it, was like a badge of honor, proof that you survived Action Park. But the film doesn't shy away from the dark side of this park, details I don't want to spoil for those who don't know the full story.

I highly recommend this film. It is available on HBO Max, and can be bought directly on demand. This film not only is a great watch, but also a well made film by itself.  I give action park eight broken bones out of ten.

Staying Organized

With the transition to online learning, staying organized is going to be difficult. Here are three quick tips to keeping yourself organized with this new platform! 1. Keep a Planner When you’re working from home, it can be easy to forget what time, day, or even week it is. Keeping a planner and updating it daily is vital for keeping track of due dates and schedules. When you don’t have a regular class schedule, it’s important to keep a planner so that you know when your Zoom meetings are, when your assignments are due, and how that fits in with the rest of your schedule. There are so many online planner resources if you prefer to do it on your phone or computer; otherwise, Amazon has excellent planner options as well. 2. Continue to Use a School Bag I know it sounds kind of strange to use a bag when you’re staying home all day, but hear me out. If you still keep all of your stuff in your bag, not only have you contained the mess of schoolwork that you have, but y...

Mackenzie Murphy on "Snacks for Those Who Have Our Backs"

I've always been someone who has been involved in the community. I have always had a passion for making a difference and giving back to those in need. Much of my involvement and love for serving others, stems from the way I was raised. I am one of six kids, with the last three of us having been adopted. My mom is a retired nurse and worked for the State of NH, so I was raised with foster children and teenagers living with us for much of my childhood. Through the years, I have learned to never judge a book by its cover, to always help out those who may need a helping hand and make sure I give back to those who give so much, as my parents have been shining examples throughout my life. Through my involvement, I have served on many different community boards and organizations and tried to lend a hand whenever I saw the opportunity. However, I always felt like I wasn't doing "enough" and wanted to make a bigger impact. The perfect moment came when I was on a Zoom ca...
