Weekly Recipe: Meatloaf

We all know the cliché of the bland meatloaf served in school lunches in cartoons and kids media. It is a cliché that I never understood, since the meatloaf I had growing up was always delicious, I even based my meatball recipe off of it. Today, I am going to share that recipe with all of you.

Ingredients:

1 lbs. ground beef

1 cup Italian breadcrumbs

1tbsp red pepper flakes

2 tbsp. salt

1tsp black pepper

1 whole onion chopped

1tbsp garlic powder

1 whole egg

1 cup tomato sauce or BBQ sauce

Directions: place the ground beef and other ingredients,  minus the sauce, in a large mixing bowl. Then,  using your hands, mix together the ingredients until fully incorporated. place the meatloaf mixture in a glass baking sheet and spread the mixture to each side, until it is molded into the shape of the container. Pour the desired sauce on top
of the meatloaf mixture and spread evenly across its surface. Finally, place the meatloaf into a 375 degree Fahrenheit oven for fort minutes. After wards, let the meatloaf coo for 5-10 minutes before cutting and serving your flavorful meat dish.

Staying Organized

With the transition to online learning, staying organized is going to be difficult. Here are three quick tips to keeping yourself organized with this new platform! 1. Keep a Planner When you’re working from home, it can be easy to forget what time, day, or even week it is. Keeping a planner and updating it daily is vital for keeping track of due dates and schedules. When you don’t have a regular class schedule, it’s important to keep a planner so that you know when your Zoom meetings are, when your assignments are due, and how that fits in with the rest of your schedule. There are so many online planner resources if you prefer to do it on your phone or computer; otherwise, Amazon has excellent planner options as well. 2. Continue to Use a School Bag I know it sounds kind of strange to use a bag when you’re staying home all day, but hear me out. If you still keep all of your stuff in your bag, not only have you contained the mess of schoolwork that you have, but y...

Mackenzie Murphy on "Snacks for Those Who Have Our Backs"

I've always been someone who has been involved in the community. I have always had a passion for making a difference and giving back to those in need. Much of my involvement and love for serving others, stems from the way I was raised. I am one of six kids, with the last three of us having been adopted. My mom is a retired nurse and worked for the State of NH, so I was raised with foster children and teenagers living with us for much of my childhood. Through the years, I have learned to never judge a book by its cover, to always help out those who may need a helping hand and make sure I give back to those who give so much, as my parents have been shining examples throughout my life. Through my involvement, I have served on many different community boards and organizations and tried to lend a hand whenever I saw the opportunity. However, I always felt like I wasn't doing "enough" and wanted to make a bigger impact. The perfect moment came when I was on a Zoom ca...
